YWCA Youth Advocate Program
The Youth Advocate Program works with youth, ages 10 to 18, who are feeling isolated, experiencing conflict, or just feel like they don't fit in.
The Youth Advocate engages directly with the youth , and family, on a weekly basis. For Approximately 10 months.
This program is preventative in nature and helps youth discover, and enhance, the gifts they have inside.
The youth is connected to community resources and recreational activities.
The focus is on social skills and self-esteem development, and building a support network.
The Youth Advocate start by building a relationship with the youth, developing trust , and helping them identify their challenges , needs and strengths.
The Youth Advocate provides support to the family, and information on parenting and understanding youth development.
When needed, the Youth Advocate, will also go into the schools, or to other agencies, and act as liaison for better communication and problem solving.
The Youth Advocate Program is free of charge.
Support is provided in-home and in the community.

English Conversation Classes at the Family Resource Centre
*No child care is provided
English Conversation Classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday Evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Practice your English and make new friends.
The ESL class is for Immigrants and Refugees and is FREE of charge.

If you have an eviction, or disconnection, notice; apply for money from the Alberta Government's Homeless and Eviction Prevention Fund.

Our group meets every Wednesday at 10:30am to 11:45am.
Come, socialize and participate in activities with other women in the community while enjoying coffee, tea and snacks.

Planning For Your Childrens' Education
 
Are you low income and interested in planning for your children's education?
Money is available from the Government for your child's education after High School.
You don't have to save your own money to get this money.
If , however, you do save money, the Government will add to the money saved.
Momentum has a free workshop to show you to this.

It is a fun-filled program for infants, toddlers and caregivers.

Knit & Natter every Wednesday at 1:30pm

Join this fun group of community residents to do your favourite craft, learn to knit or crochet, and, make new friends.
Our Blanket Project Needs Volunteers!
To knit squares to create blankets.
Pattern & wool supplied by 'Knit and Natter Group'.
All finished blankets will go to those in need.

Free Clothing Room & Donations
We would like to thank EVERYONE for their generous support for our Clothing & Book Exchange program.
Choose from a wide variety of children's and adult books, or, recycle those you've already read.
Donations of gently used, clean clothing for all sizes are greatly appreciated.
We are always in need of children's, and professional, clothing.
Donations of dishes, pots, pans and household goods are always welcome.
We are unable to pick up items , however, deliveries can be made to both locations.
If you have larger items to donate such as furniture,mattresses etc: Please call us and we will advertise them on our bulletin board.
We are need of metal clothes hangers & plastic bags. We would really appreciate this. Thanks
Unfortunately, we do not have space to store large items.
Thankyou to our wonderful volunteers who keep the clothing room so neat & tidy.
Please do not leave donations after hours, or weekends. If you are unable to come during regular hours please call to make special arrangements.

Free Clothing Room
Come and check out our used clothing for yourself or for your family.
You do NOT need to bring items to help yourself to the clothing , and household goods.
The Clothing Room is open Mondays to Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
A huge Thank You to Imperial Oil, which completely renovated our clothing exchange.
 
Thank you to our Clothing Room Volunteers who keep the Clothing Room so neat and tidy.
Laundry facilities are available the same hours as the Clothing Exchange.

The boxes are delivered once a month.
Come in to order, and pay for, your Good Food Box. (Non-refundable)
Please ensure they are picked up by 5 p.m. as we do not have cold storage for over the weekend.
